How it works

Fixed wireless access, explained

ETONET delivers internet over the air — from a site near you straight to a small receiver on your home. There is nothing to trench and no street to dig up, which is why we can light up a neighbourhood in weeks rather than years.

  1. A site near you

Our base stations sit on towers and rooftops across each service area, fed by high-capacity backhaul and engineered around the homes they cover.

  2. A receiver on your home

A technician mounts a small outdoor antenna, aims it at that site, and runs one cable inside — usually a single visit, with nothing dug up and no street works.

  3. Wi-Fi through the whole house

That cable feeds your router, set up and tested on site, so every room and every device gets a strong, steady connection.

Fixed wireless reaches homes and businesses that trenched networks have not — which is exactly why we build it. Real broadband, live in weeks, in places that have waited long enough for it.

And the reliability that keeps your whole house connected

A whole home online at once on a single connection A cutaway of a two-storey house in the evening. A fixed wireless signal arrives at a small receiver on the roof, feeding the router in the hallway by a single cable, and its coverage reaches every room: a laptop on a video call in the home office, a tablet streaming in the bedroom, a television and a phone in the living room, and a smart speaker, phone and camera in the kitchen. Questions, answered

What internet speed do I actually need?

A household streaming in HD on several devices is comfortable around 100 Mbps. Remote work, 4K streaming, and larger households benefit from 300 Mbps and above. We'll help you right-size your plan — faster isn't always better, but consistent always is.

What exactly is fixed wireless access?

Fixed wireless access (FWA) delivers broadband over licensed radio spectrum instead of a cable buried to your door. A base station on a tower or rooftop near you talks to a small antenna mounted on your home, and that antenna feeds your router over a single cable. Because there is nothing to trench, we can bring real broadband to a street in weeks rather than the years a buried build takes.

How does fixed wireless compare to cable or fiber?

For what a household actually does — streaming, video calls, gaming, working from home — a well-engineered fixed wireless connection is indistinguishable from a wired one. The honest difference is that wireless capacity is shared across a sector and depends on the path between your home and our site, which is why we survey every address and engineer capacity for peak hours rather than for a brochure number. Where a trenched network already reaches, it has the edge on raw ceiling; where it does not, fixed wireless is the difference between real broadband and none.

Why isn't pricing published yet?

We're currently qualifying service areas and finalising agreements with our network partners and suppliers. Rather than advertise a number we'd have to change, we publish pricing per service area once that build is confirmed. Leave us your address and you'll get yours as soon as it's set — with no hidden fees when it arrives.

Are there data caps?

No. Our plans are built around transparency — unlimited data, clear terms, and no surprises buried in fine print.

How long does installation take?

Most installations are completed in a single visit of one to two hours, scheduled at a time that works for you. Our technician mounts a small outdoor antenna, aims it at the nearest ETONET site, runs one cable inside to your router, then tests the connection and walks you through everything before leaving. Nothing is dug up, and nothing is left for you to configure.

Do I need a clear line of sight to your tower?

A clear path helps, and it is the first thing we check. Every address gets a survey before installation, and our technician confirms real signal quality on site — not just a prediction on a map. If we cannot deliver a connection we would be happy to use ourselves, we will tell you that rather than install one anyway.

Does weather affect a fixed wireless connection?

Our links are engineered with fade margin for rain and wind, so day-to-day weather should not change your service. Severe storms can affect any network, wired or wireless — that is what our monitoring and round-the-clock support are there for.

Do you support businesses with critical uptime needs?

Yes. For organizations where connectivity is mission-critical, we offer dedicated access and business-grade solutions designed around reliability, symmetrical bandwidth, and responsive support.

How do partners and suppliers get in touch?

Email support@etonet.info with your capability statement, line card, or coverage footprint. We review every enquiry from infrastructure, equipment, and property partners as we open each new service area.
